Neverwinter Wood - Part 1 [80 x 160]

I had someone ask for a map they could use as Neverwinter Wood in an upcoming session, so I decided to put together a multi-part forest that would have some variant options (i.e. night time with glowing fey/wisps), as well as a sprawling forest that had several points of interest that could be used for random encounters or woven into homebrew campaigns.

Some of the points of interest in this map:

Dry River Bed - a dried-up river bed snakes its way through much of this part of the wood, riddled with piles of dead leaves, shadowy crags and crevices and even a few exposed caves. Hard to tell who, or what lurks within them, waiting for unwary travelers to pass their way.

Rotten Stump - on a slight hill amidst a clearing, what once was a Great Tree now stands as a large, rotten stump. Worse yet, the interior of the stump has been carved, or eaten, away to reveal a crude tunnel diving straight into the earth. What lay underground?

Fungi Clumps - patches of fungus grow amidst particular trees or about certain stumps, perhaps a rare delicacy, medicinal property or dangerous creature.

Stone Crevice - squatting atop a the dry river bed are a collection of large boulders, the center of which reveals a crude passage leading beneath the stones and into the earth. Home of a harmless forest animal or lair of a monstrous creature?

My main goal with this forest project is to provide a large section of forest that can be used and reused for a variety of potential random encounters, as well as give players a ton of space to cover in a given session, potentially having several locations to explore and enter, easily linking to other maps that fit the theme and story of your campaign.

If you have an idea for a point of interest you'd like to see in a Part 2 (likely located directly east of this section), let me know, and I can try and weave it in!
