Khun loped forward, keeping to the shade of the large cliff as he surveyed the open ground before him. A light breeze carried across the patchy grass, occasionally bumping into the lump boulders strewn about the base of the plateau ahead.

"Looks clear.", Khun signaled and began cross the open field when a massive rock plunged into the dirt a few feet from his head, creating a shower of stone. A guttural shout echoed across the stone walls of the cliff from somewhere overhead, as a massive shadow moved across the opposing wall.

The rest of the party froze in their tracks, shrinking back against the shade of the cliff wall and gazing upward nervously, then back toward Khun.

Khun shrugged slightly, glancing back toward the party, "Looked clear."

Welcome to the Boulderlands!

This is a large-scale map designed for Random Encounters as your party makes its way through some foothills, mountains or hills. There are several points of interest, as well as cover, elevation, water, difficult terrain and other mechanical elements to help make combat interesting and challenging.

The points of interest on this map include:

1. Several bone corpses that may hold treasure, information or a simple warning of what is to come.
2. Several caves, holes and entrances that can link to any other map you want and give you many options for lairs, hidden creatures, bandit caves, spawning places or even connected tunnels.
3. Some varied vegetation that can be helpful for characters that are looking for a specific flower, herb or plant.
4. A large waterfall that could have a cave (and additional map) behind it as a destination.
