This is a revision of one of my first maps depicting a Mage School of Hydromancy, which I've updated for my more current style. I've not only gone through and updated the lighting, shading and similar aesthetics, but also redone all of the rooms and shifted the size/scale to accommodate a 70 x 64 grid size, making it a much more usable space.

I've also included some Original Concept Art I'd had made by Romain Defelix, as well as a one-page write up of the location, which includes art by Dean Spencer.

Also included is the Concept Art in the title, generated in Midjourney AI.

The location would make a great destination for either PC's that need to train or learn higher-level water magics, parties that seek a powerful artifact or knowledge relevant for a current quest or even as the base of some antagonists for your campaign/adventure.

The school centers around a large portal to the Plane of Water that is held open for the High Mage to plumbs its depths for arcane secrets. The portal keeps most everything from crossing, though a torrent of water cascades off the cliff in the form of a waterfall that spills into the ocean below.

The High Mage could be an ally or resource to the party, or he could be an enemy compromised by an extra-planar entity, or simply blinded by his own greed and ambition to gain magical power at any cost.

I hope to do similar write-ups for other original maps I do, if you like the format, so please let me know in the comments!
